Leo Horoscope – September 2026

The month starts with Mars in Cancer moving through your 12th house of the unconscious, endings, retreat and things happening behind the scenes.

Mars here can be quite different from Mars in the 1st house. Rather than wanting to charge forward publicly, you may feel that your energy is being directed inward. You could be dealing with something privately, working behind the scenes on something, or becoming aware of anger, frustration or desires that you’ve previously ignored. You might feel restricted in some meaningful way to you, or are trying to move past something that is keeping you tethered. Reality checks will be apparent at this time.

From September 10 Venus enters your Scorpio 4th house of home, family, roots and emotional foundations.

This can bring more pleasure and harmony into your home life. You may want to beautify your home, spend more time with family or create a living environment that feels more cosy.

Then Mercury enters Libra, your 3rd house of communication, siblings, neighbours, learning, writing and your immediate environment.

This is a strong placement for communication. You may have more conversations than usual, start writing or learning something, or become more involved with your local environment. It’s also a good period for getting your thoughts organised and putting something into words.

Uranus turns retrograde in Gemini in your 11th house of friendships, groups, networks and future aspirations.

Uranus has begun a long-term process of changing your social world and your vision for the future. The retrograde asks you to revisit some of those changes.

You may question whether certain friendships still fit, reconsider your place within a group, or rethink a long-term goal.

If you have natal planets between 1° and 5°, Uranus will contact them as it moves backwards so it’s always worth consulting an astrologer. The outer planets move slowly and the effects can’t be felt at all times, but they show up when one of your natal planets are triggered and that’s where you’ll find the context personal to you.

On September 11 you have a New Moon in Virgo which falls in your 2nd house of money, income, possessions and self-worth.

This is a powerful opportunity to begin something new financially. You might start a new income stream, change how you manage money, ask for more money or make a decision about what you actually value and respect.

Because the New Moon connects positively with Mars in your 12th house, something you’ve been developing privately or behind the scenes could begin to have financial potential. Once Mars comes around to your first house of personality at the end of the month on the 28th, you will find you will have new courage to do something aligned with your personal goals. I’m excited for you Leo, and what you might begin next month.

September 18 Chiron moves back into your 10th house of career, reputation and public identity.

This brings attention back to an old wound around achievement, recognition or your place in the world.

You may question whether you’re successful enough, whether your career reflects who you are, or whether you’ve been trying to prove something through your work. A Leo always wants to be noticed and recognised, even the shy Leos who don’t want to be the centre of attention. It might be important to you to find the spotlight in your own way. Your Chiron return might bring up ways you can heal this sense of feeling like you’ve been forgotten in some way.

September 23 — Sun enters Libra, your 3rd house, putting even more emphasis on communication, learning, writing, speaking and your immediate environment.

You may become particularly busy with conversations, correspondence, teaching or sharing your ideas.

This could be a good period for getting something you’ve been thinking about out into the world. It’s a good time also to work on a project such as writing a book. You might be dealing with siblings more at this time, too, or zipping around your local neighbourhood and enjoying what is on close to home.

This is the big culmination of the month. The Full Moon in Aries on the 26th falls in your 9th house of travel, higher education, publishing, philosophy, spirituality, beliefs and your understanding of the wider world.

Something you’ve been learning, exploring or developing since the Aries New Moon around April may now reach a culmination.

You could complete a course, make a major travel decision, publish something, or suddenly understand something that previously didn’t make sense.

With Neptune involved, however, there may be some uncertainty around what you believe or where you’re heading. Neptune’s involvement doesn’t necessarily mean you have the complete picture yet. It gives you permission to dream!

September 28 Mars enters your 1st house, Leo, of identity, self-expression and personal direction.

After spending so much of the month working behind the scenes, your energy comes back into the foreground!

You’ll probably feel much more motivated, assertive and ready to act. This is excellent for starting something new, taking control of your direction or putting yourself first. Is there something you still want to achieve this year? You have the last few months of the year, and with Mars in the driver’s seat, you will be more ready to action.

Overall, September begins with Mars in your 12th house asking you to deal with something beneath the surface. The New Moon then turns your attention towards money and self-worth, while the Full Moon in your 9th house brings a realisation about your beliefs or future direction. And at the end of the month, Mars enters your 1st house and it’s ready, set, go…

Good luck this month Leo, and see you in October!
